Eyes of Memories
Originals of illustrations from the collections provided by JUDr. Dušan Roll, one of the founders of BIB. Sometimes not-studying can be advantageous and it is obvious especially by Igor Olejnikov. No one made him illustrate the way it would not suit him. He relies on his own feeling and this enables him to have his own point of view and a certain kind of freedom. Ludwig Volbeda, Holandsko – Grand Prix BIB 2017
Dutch illustrator Ludwig Volbeda mainly works on children’s books.In 2016 he illustrated an absurdist war story written by Benny Lindelauf: How Tortot lost his fish heart. It was awarded with a Gouden Lijst, and nominated for the Boekenpauw bookprize and the Woutertje Pieterse Prijs. Together with Dutch writer Ted van Lieshout he produces the art prints book The Birds, a poetic story about two statues who can’t reach each other.
