BIBIANA at the Belgrade fair

Presentation of Slovakia at the 61st Serbian International Book Fair

BIBIANA, the International House of Art for Children, was present at this book fair for the fifth time as the single participant from Slovakia. Its stand presented 30 books that won The Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia 2013-2015 competition and also a collection of works by the Slovak Illustrators Who Won BIB Awards. The fair also offered numerous accompanying events including the presentation titled General Information on the History of BIB, Grand Prix Laureates and Participation of Serbian Illustrators in BIB that was presented by Marián Potrok. The presentation was attended also by Slovak language students from Belgrade University. The presentation was followed by opening of the Slovak stand in presence of Michal Hrušík, Secretary of the Slovak Embassy in Belgrade and other guests and journalists. Iran was this year’s guest of honor at the fair and for that reason works by several illustrators from Iran were presented who will probably exhibit their illustrations also at BIB 2017. During the fair numerous discussions were held with partners from Serbia and other countries. BIBIANA’s participation in the fair was also covered by media and an extensive interview was given by Mr. Potrok to the People’s Voice weekly. Specific cooperation activities were agreed with the Babka Gallery as well as with the Banate Cultural Centre for exhibitions and also participation of Serbian illustrators in BIB 2017.
