Juries of experts put together by the organiser of the competition, BIBIANA, the International House of Art for Children, and Slovak Section of IBBY, concluded the evaluation process of books of autumn 2018. The collection of books included 42 titles from 16 publishing houses.
The Jury for Art selected these books as the most beautiful children's books of autumn:
Marianna Čaučíková: Plávaj Lydka! (Swim, Lydka!), illustrated by Marianna Čaučíková (published by focusart, s.r.o.);
Iveta Kesnerová: Deň, keď som zmenil svet (The Day, When I Changed the World), illustrated by Ján Kurinec (published by Ikar, a.s.);
Petra Baďová: O dievčatku, ktoré kráča Domov...(About a Girl Walking Home...), illustrated by Petra Baďová (published by Asociácia Corpus in cooperation with NM Code);
Marta Hlušíková: Starovek pod lupou (Ancient History through a Magnifying Glass) illustrated by Juraj Martiška (published by Perfekt, a.s.);
Ľudovít Petraško: Povesti, príbehy a povedačky z východu Slovenska (Legends, Stories, and Sayings from Eastern Slovakia), illustrated by Anna Hausová (published by Vydavateľstvo Matice slovenskej, s.r.o.);
Katarína Mikolášová: Príbehy z prameňa (Stories from a Spring), illustrated by Peter Uchnár (published by Vydavateľstvo Spolku slovenských spisovateľov, spol s r.o.).
The Jury for Literature selected these books as the best children's books of autumn:
Vincent Šikula: Deti (The Children), edited by Anna Blahová-Šikulová (published by Ikar, a.s.);
Iason a Medeia (Lason and Medeia), retold by Beata Panáková (published by Perfekt, a.s.);
Toňa Revajová: Rok Sivka Ohniváka (A Year of Sivko Ohnivák) and Daniel Hevier: Vtáčia legenda (A Bird's Legend) both published by TRIO Publishing, s.r.o.).
