Illustrations to a Cookbook for Imaginary Characters / BIB UNESCO Albín Brunovský Workshop

The BIB UNESCO Albín Brunovský Workshop for young illustrators has been an integral part of the Biennial of Illustrations since 1983. The seminars have been conducted by various Slovak illustrators over the years – Albín Brunovský, Karol Ondreička, Dušan Kállay, Martin Kellenberger, Peter Čisárik, Ľuboslav Paľo, Peter Uchnár, Juraj Martiška, Miroslav Regitko and Igor Piačka. There have already been more than 200 young illustrators from all around the word.

We are presenting the collection of originals of illustrations from the workshop in 2011. The head of the workshop was Peter Uchnár, one of the most important illustrator in Slovakia. The topic of the workshop was very interesting and creative: “Illustrations to a Cookbook for Imaginary Characters”. Cooking is still very popular theme, so we hope that it will be very inspiring for you. Imagine a fantastic restaurant offering food to various imaginary characters.  A restaurant visited by fairy tale characters, mythical animals, and beasts, creatures from space. Flower ferries, Superman, or packs of werewolves come to have to have lunch here. And we know nothing about their existence….
