TRAVEL JOURNAL

Do you know how big our world is and how many exciting places it offers? You don’t have only to imagine it—you can live it! In this theatre workshop, you can become a traveller and travel to countries full of infinite possibilities with us. Together, we will explore the world of shadow puppetry and its magic.

Under the guidance of N. Kozáková, P. Stehelová, V. Trokšiarová, M. Pavlikánová

EACH WALL HAS TWO SIDES

In our studio, we will create a symbolic wall dividing time into two periods – before and after the Velvet Revolution. On one side of the wall, we will look back at how life was before 1989, the fashion, food, culture or travels that were out of reach for so many. On the other side of the wall, we will create a space to create the world after the revolution, using colours. Visitors will be able to express their thoughts through pictures, symbols, and captions that embody the change our world met once the walls that divided countries, people, and families fell. It opens the doors for inter-generational dialogue about freedom, democracy, and the values we have adopted. The event is inspired by the book The Wall by Peter Sís, which won the 2012 H. Ch. Andersen Literature Award.
