WORKSHOP
The topic of the International Albin Brunovsky BIB-UNESCO Workshop 2015 TRANSFORMATION
The characters in Slovak fairy tales include powerful kings and queens, beautiful princesses, brave heroes, daring lads who fearlessly fight dangerous many-headed dragons, mean witches and all kinds of monsters. These heroes and characters are of various appearances but the point always is the eternal struggle between good and evil, the contrast between beauty and ugliness.
All is in motion: the characters, lands, situations, and stories keep changing. A beautiful maiden turns into a duck, a little fly or even a stallion, the castle shrinks into an apple, boys are transformed into ravens, girls into pigeons, a youth into a ring or a dragon, and the wizard can turn into anything.
All countries have their distinct traditions of folk or authored fairy tales, legends and myths.
The topic of the International Albin Brunovsky Workshop 2015 is “Transformation”.
Each artist’s assignment will be to make 3 illustrations on this topic and present their story or stories that they have illustrated to their co-participants.
The choice of technique is optional (pencil, pen, water colors, gouache, pastel, acrylic colors or another) Format A4-A3.
I am looking forward to meeting you at the workshop, dear friends!
