Ali Boozari, Iran
He works as an assistant professor at the Department of Graphical Design and Illustration, University of Art in Tehran and has published several papers on book illustration in Iran and also works as an illustrator. His illustrations have been published in several countries and have won awards. He has been a curator for numerous exhibitions in various countries with a focus on illustration. He was an active participant in several congresses focused on art and literature for children and was also a member of international juries in competitions oriented at illustration for children.
Fanuel Hanán Díaz, Venezuel
He studied literature, with specialization in applied science and art in television at the university in Caracas. He served as the coordinator for the Children’s Book Department and as an editor with the Parapara magazine specializing in children’s literature. He participated in the Venezuelan program for promotion of reading and served as a jury member for several national and international competitions for children’s literature. He is the author of several educational children’s books and also books on theory and has won awards for his works.
Victoria Fomina, Russia
She graduated from art school in Moscow. She has illustrated more than thirty books that were published in several countries and also has had her works on display at numerous individual and collective exhibitions. She is a member of the Moscow Illustrator and Designer Association.
Yukiko Hiromatsu, Japan
She was born in Los Angeles, USA and grew up in Tokyo, Japan. She has worked as an editor, director of BUNKO (home libraries for children) and as curator in chief for Chihiro Art Museum. She is also an author of picture books, a reviewer and independent curator. She was a member of several juries for illustration, including Bologna (2010), BIB (2013) and was a member of the selection commission for Bookstart Japan. She has authored several children’s books and works also as a translator and author of professional texts on illustration.
Akoss Ofori-Mensah, Ghana
She studied English at the University of Ghana. Since 1976 she has worked in the book publishing industry. She has had her own publishing company since 1993 to publish books for children and youth. She also worked for the Association of Ghana’s Publishers and served as its (only woman) president in 2003-2005. She has actively worked for IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) and has been a member of its executive since 2016.
Ľuboslav Paľo, Slovakia
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Graphics and Book Illustration Department. After his graduation he went on a study stay in Paris (Cité Internationale des Arts). At present he focuses on illustration and art. He has illustrated more than 40 books in cooperation with Slovak and international publishers. His works have won several awards (The Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia, the Ľudovít Fulla Award, Golden Apple BIB, Associate Prize at Biennial of Illustration Oita). He is a teacher of theory and practical aspects of illustrated books at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava and was a lecturer at several workshops and presentations (BIB workshop, Museum of Modern Art Shiga-Japan, Academy of Fine Arts Katowice, Poland). He was also an international jury member for BIB 2009, A Well-Designed Book Katowice 2008, Salon du Livre et de la jeunesse Paris 2013 and Exhibition Bologna Book Fair 2011. He lives and works in Jablonove near Bratislava.
Kamila Slocinska, Denmark
She is a Danish-Polish illustrator, author and artist. During her career she has illustrated more than ten books for children and also digital interactive stories. She also authored and illustrated three books and her works have been published in several countries.
Tanya Sternson, Israel
She studied art history and worked as a curator for several galleries and museums. She has written many professional papers and is the founder of the Art Association of Israel, with the core goal of presentation and promotion of Israeli artists in various fields.
Senka Vlahovič, Serbia
She focuses on design and illustration as well as on theory of illustration, photography, painting and video art. She graduated from the Academy of Art in Belgrade, is the founder, director and jury member of the book illustration festival "BookILL Fest" in Novi Sad, Serbia. She is the author of several papers and books on illustration and has also illustrated numerous books and had her works on display at numerous individual and collective exhibitions in Serbia and abroad.
