THE BOOK DIEROŽRÚT AS A SCENIC LABORATORY - room of reading

In the show-piece concept The Book Dierožrút as a Scenic Laboratory Timotea Vráblová with the stage manager Mária Bačová started examining the possibility to use a book as a "scenic laboratory", in which a child would wander in their own reading microcosms.  An average children's mindset takes the idea as natural and it encourages children in their own games within the story, which stimulates in them abilities for deeper reading. It is a sample of creative adaptation of more difficult book, which teaches a child, that they can explore and experiment in the stories on their own.

We offer you a unique possibility to observe a minimised world, i.e. the world of creatures who are smaller than children: the hole-eaters.

The hole-eaters are curious and adventurous creatures. This time they decided to leave home to acquire experience in the world and to become wise creatures. The world of the hole-eaters is very small, so it does not take much time for children to make a scan of it.

Of course! The hole-eaters are collectors and eaters of holes. But they have found out that the books will help them to find the "biggest hole in the world".  First of all, we will meet our heroes. How? Each one of them has a special way of how to make the best and the most beautiful collection of books.

Mr. Hole-eater moves "swiftly and comfortably". He came up with an excellent idea. It is almost an aeroplane. He does not need to weary himself with walking on his tiny hole-eater's legs. Mr. Hole-eater built a funicular. And he gets everywhere quickly in the air. He is interested in nothing, but in feeding himself on holes. Based on this fact, he picks out the exhibits for the library - letters with holes. But will he be able to read from it?

Mrs. Hole-eater does not like rushing. And she chose her own way. She digs slowly through the well and she thinks about what to read and how to read it. Her collection is extraordinary valuable. Look! She does not sort the letters! Mrs. Hole-eater became fond of every single one!
