Zuzana Liptáková
Director of BIBIANA. Graduated in Aesthetics and French at the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava. She worked in the field of media and culture, then as a dramaturg, project and grant manager at the Municipal Library of Bratislava. She has worked on projects mainly in the field of book culture, often with overlap into other areas or contexts of art. One of the most visible projects was the Summer Reading Room at the open-air library U červeného raka. She
has been the director of BIBIANA since August 2022. Her vision is to improve the quality of pedagogical work with children's visitors, to develop partnerships with the professional public, to raise the profile of BIBIANA outside Bratislava and to enhance important events such as BIB, BAB, The Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia and others.
Pavel Choma
Graphic designer, typographer, designer, teacher. At the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava he studied applied graphics and cartoon film. After graduation has been working as a freelancer, did graphic design for publishing houses, did poster design for various events. Together with his colleagues Longauer, Rostok, Dók and Mydlo, he participated in the debut exhibitions of his generation Poster and Graphic Design.
Currently he is also a university lecturer at the Department of Visual Communication at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. In 2021 he won the National Design Award and several awards in the Best Books of the Year competition.
Hana Križanová
Slovak illustrator. She studied landscape architecture and social design in Slovakia, Austria and Germany. Since 2018 she has been working on book, editorial and product illustration under the pseudonym Han Donau (Han Illustration). Her work has been included in exhibitions in several countries.
In addition to her work as an illustrator, she worked in the bookstore field in Vienna and Bratislava between 2017 and 2022 and is currently the head of the BIB Secretariat at BIBIANA.
Dávid Marcin
Comic book artist, illustrator and educator. Graduate of the Department of Free Graphics and Illustration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. Participated in comic projects (Zlatý Zub, Nežný komiks, All Those Worlds, short comics for Slniečko magazine).
He has worked with clients such as EJ Publishing, O2 Slovakia, Sme and BRak. He is a co-founder of the Pomimo civic association.
Daniela Olejníková
Slovak illustrator. She graduated in graphic design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. She has illustrated almost two dozen books for children and youth for domestic and foreign publishers. She has worked on experimental editions of Richard Brautigan's book In Watermelon Sugar (2011) and Italo Calvino's Invisible Cities (2016). Her illustrations have appeared in Denník N, Slniečko and Raketa magazines.
She is the winner of the BIB Plaque 2013 and the BIB Golden Apple 2017 and has won several awards in the Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia and the Most Beautiful Czech Books of the Year competitions. She has been cooperating with Čierne diery Association for a long time.
Maria Rojko
Graphic designer. She studied under the guidance of Stanislav Stankóci and Pavel Choma at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. She is the author of several book covers, booklets and magazines (e.g. Zornička and Včielka), she co- founded the Association of Illustrators - ASIL (in 2009) and ASIL Gallery (in 2010), she collaborates with Slovak music bands, music and book publishers and film directors and producers.
In September 2014, together with Ida Želinská and Miloš Kopták, they opened a gallery focused on book illustration TOTO! Je galéria. She lives and works in Bratislava and in the Myjavské kopanice.
Boris Šima
Animator, illustrator, director. He studied animated film in Zlín (Czech Republic) and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Department of Animation.
His filmography includes Dnes mám prvé randevú (Today Is My First Date, 2002), Chyťte ho! (2008) a Hurá na hrad! (2012), 39 týždňov,6 dní (39 Weeks, 6 Days, 2017, s J. Kozuch). He has collaborated on the television series Mimi and Lisa and Websterovci (The Websters).
Tomas Klepoch
Visual artist, educator, graphic designer. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava under professors Robert Jančovič and Ivan Csudai. He completed his master's studies under associate professor Pavel Choma in the studio of visual communication. In addition to free graphics, mainly linocut and woodcut, he works on book illustrations.
He is the winner of the BIB Golden Apple 2011 for his illustrations of Rudolf Sloboda's book Ako som sa stal mudrcom (How I Became a Sage). He has participated in several individual and group exhibitions, he is the co-author of the author's book V znamení Pentódy (In the Sign of the Pentode), which won the Most Beautiful Czech Books of 2018, the award of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, Bibliophilia and author's works.
Timotea Vráblová
Literary scholar, psychologist and founder of the IBBY Institute Bratislava. She lectures on children's literature and psychology of the child viewer at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. She prepares seminars and workshops on creative reading and writing at home and abroad, and regularly reviews children's books. She is the author of many projects. She is the author of a series of Reading Comprehension guides in the project Analfabeta Negramotná.
Since 2010 she has been the President of the Slovak Section of the International Children's Book Union (IBBY) and is the founder of the International IBBY INSTITUTE BRATISLAVA. In therapy, she focuses primarily on children and psychological counselling in the field of education.
Beata Jablonská
Expert at the Department of Theory and History of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts. She graduated from the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava and completed her doctoral studies with a dissertation: The Presence and Meaning of Painting in the Strategies of Slovak Conceptual Art. She worked as a curator at the Slovak National Gallery and as a researcher at the Research Centre. She has conceived and curated several exhibitions and is the author of several professional texts and publications.
Zuzana Jarošová
Art journalist and critic, screenwriter, director, producer. She worked as an editor of the magazine Literárny týždenník. Author of scripts for film documentaries about artists made for Slovak television. Screenwriter and director of documentary films about BIB.
As a curator, she has prepared several collective exhibitions of artists of the middle generation. In 2006 she was appointed by the Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic to the position of General Commissioner of the BIB and in 2010 to the position of President of the International Committee of the BIB.
Barbara Brathová
She studied art history and aesthetics at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava. She worked as the head of the department of the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava and later she was the head of the department of strategic projects and curator of exhibitions at the Slovak National Theatre. She is involved in publishing in the field of visual and dramatic arts, has about 600 professional articles, several publications and numerous exhibitions to her credit. He is currently working at the Ministry of Culture.
