Little library

The Mala galéria (Little Gallery) in BIBIANA was the venue that opened an exhibition of works by Shiho Dono, a Japanese illustrator living in Slovakia, on August 4. The Japanese Embassy in Bratislava took auspices over the exhibition and the Ambassador of Japan to Slovakia, Jun Shimmi, and his wife attended the opening. The artist, a native of Sapporo in Japan, studied visual art at the Joishibi High School of Art and Design in Tokyo in 2004 and then completed two years of studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Department of Graphics, under Professor Dušan Kállay. She illustrates children’s books for Japanese publishers and has had several exhibitions in Japan. The exhibition presents 30 illustrations, 10 graphic works, and hand-bound children’s books with illustrations. The exhibition is open till September 25, 2016.
